Common Fence Problems We Fix
Leaning Posts
Posts that have rotted at the base, lost their concrete footing, or were set too shallow. We dig out the old post, set a new one in fresh concrete, and plumb it straight.
Rotted Boards
Pickets that have split, warped, or rotted through from ground contact and moisture. We pull the damaged boards and install matching replacements.
Gate Repair
Sagging gates, broken hinges, latches that no longer catch, and frames that have racked out of square. We re-hang, re-brace, and replace hardware so the gate swings and latches cleanly.
Storm Damage
Fallen trees, wind-snapped posts, and blown-out panels. We clear the debris, replace the damaged sections, and get your fence back up fast so your yard is secure.
HOA Violations
Got a letter from the HOA about your fence? We repair to match the original style, height, and material so the result passes inspection. We know the common covenant patterns across south Charlotte.
Rail & Cross-Brace Repair
Horizontal rails that have cracked, pulled loose from the posts, or sagged under the weight of the pickets. We replace rails and add cross-bracing to keep the fence rigid.

Free Written Quote
No surprise add-ons. We tell you what needs fixing, what can wait, and what it costs - in writing, before we touch a tool. Most repairs are scheduled within the same week.
Fix Same Week
We replace damaged posts, boards, and hardware, set new posts in concrete, and haul away all debris. Simple repairs are same-day. Post replacements may need a next-day return for curing.
Same Tools, Same Crew, Same Standards
We are a deck and outdoor structure crew first. That means we already carry the saws, post-hole digger, levels, and pressure-treated lumber that fence repair requires. There is no separate mobilization cost, no waiting for a fence-only subcontractor, and no question about whether we know how to set a post in concrete - we do it on every deck we build.
Fence repair is a natural extension of the work we already do across Marvin, Waxhaw, Weddington, Fort Mill, and Ballantyne. The same crew that replaces your rotten deck boards can fix the fence at the same visit if you want to bundle the work. We quote everything up front, use pressure-treated lumber rated for ground contact, and warranty our repair work for one year.
Frequently Asked
How much does fence repair typically cost?
Most fence repairs in the Charlotte metro run between $225 and $600, depending on the scope. A few rotted pickets are on the low end. Replacing a leaning post with a new concrete footing or rebuilding a full section lands higher. Gate repairs fall somewhere in the middle. Send us photos and we quote the exact number in writing before touching a tool - no hidden fees.
Can you match the wood on my existing fence?
For pressure-treated pine, yes. We source replacement boards in the same nominal dimensions (1x6 dog-ear, 1x4 picket, 4x4 post, etc.) so the profile matches. New boards will be lighter in color for a few months until they weather to match the existing fence. If you plan to stain, we recommend staining the repaired section plus at least a full panel on each side to blend the color.
My fence is leaning - does the whole thing need to be replaced?
Usually not. A leaning fence is almost always a post problem - the post rotted at ground level, the concrete footing cracked, or the post was set too shallow. We replace the failed posts, reset them in fresh concrete footings, and reattach the rails and boards. The rest of the fence stays. If we find that more than about 30 percent of posts are rotten - our 30% rule of thumb - a full rebuild starts to make more economic sense and we will tell you.
Do I need a permit to repair a fence in Charlotte or Union County?
Cosmetic repairs - replacing a few boards, fixing a gate, re-securing loose rails - typically do not require a permit. If the repair involves replacing multiple posts or rebuilding a full section, some jurisdictions require a permit, especially if the fence sits on or near a property line. We check your local requirements as part of the quoting process and pull permits when needed.
How quickly can you fix my fence?
Most fence repairs are completed within 1 to 3 days of accepting the quote. Simple jobs like board replacement or gate adjustment are often same-day. Post replacements that need concrete to cure take two visits - one to set the posts and one to reattach the panels the next day. If you have an HOA deadline, let us know and we will prioritize the schedule.
What is the minimum for a fence repair visit?
$225, installed, plus tax, confirmed after the final measure. That covers a few broken pickets or a loose rail. Several small fixes in the same visit are quoted as one job, which costs less than separate visits.
Do you build new fences?
New wood, vinyl and aluminum fences are priced per linear foot by our sister company, Carolina Fence Works, on the same phone line. Under this name we repair the fence you have.
Will my HOA approve the repair?
We repair to match your existing fence style, height, and material so the result is consistent with your neighborhood. If your HOA has specific requirements - fence height, board spacing, stain color - share the guidelines and we will follow them. We have handled HOA violation repairs across Marvin, Waxhaw, Weddington, and Ballantyne and know the common covenant patterns in south Charlotte.
